The Rules
How this game came about
Blacken Your Eyes is a game that I've been working on for a few months now. I'm very proud of how it's turned out, and am excited to begin selling it & sharing it with the world.
I came up with the idea for Blacken Your Eyes one day while teaching an art class at my school. I had wanted my students to play Cranium (a board game that involves artsy stuff) that day, but I had totally forgotten about the fact that I was teaching a class that morning, so when it came time for lunch I was like "Oh shit" cos' I didn't have a board game. I wanted students to learn more about drawing human anatomy & skeletons & all of that, and I wanted them to play a board game, too. I decided to just go ahead & make a board game myself, so I went & made a board that looked like some sort of disabled Chutes & Ladders rip off & made a few basic score sheets, too. The board had these body part spaces on it & whenever you landed on one, you were supposed to draw that body part on your score sheet. However, I wanted the game to be fun, so I added in the ability for players to attack each other & steal others' body parts. The game got pretty tedious with the constant erasing and unerasing of body parts. There was this dice with, like, slot machine pictures on it, too. I really wanted the dice to serve some sort of purpose, but I couldn't think of one. The game was pretty hastily done, but everyone in the room loved the shit out of it & got pissed when class was over. A ton of my students thought that I should make the game a legit actual board game. I'd always wanted to make a board game but never really had any sort of good idea for one, and I realized that I'd finally come up with a good one so i thought "Ok, yeah, I'll make this a legit thing. Now half a year & a ton of game revisions later, it is a legit finished thing, so yay :D |

HomekitThe blacken your eyes Homekit is intended for people who love this game & have some great ideas for it that they wanna' try out, or for people who think it's the pits but has good potential.
The homekit contains the basis to redo pretty much everything in the game, with alot of emphasis on "pretty much" & "redo". You get a blank character sheet, sheet of blank body parts/ character standies, the back of a sheet of goal cards, the back of a sheet of game cards/hp tokens & a blank game board. That's fucking it. If you're artsy, you can go ahead, draw up your own board & standies & body parts and write up your own game cards & goal cards & all of that. If you love your copy of Blacken Your Eyes & really wanna' add your own twist to the gameplay or just do your own shit or something, then here you go! It'll be fun. If you don't want this, then just skip over it. I'm not sure how many people will find this useful, but I thought it was a really cool idea, so I hope you think it's cool, too. ![]()
